Who is Ol’ Grumps?
Ol’ Grumps’ Honey was started in 2012 by Meg Braem and Will Pratt. The name is an homage to Will’s dad who lives on the quarter section north of Cochrane with thousands of bees. Ol’ Grumps (or Grumpy as he is known by his granddaughters) prefers honey without any fussiness. Each summer, the farm is blanketed in white clover and wildflowers making it the perfect place to harvest pure, natural honey. As Ol’ Grumps likes to say, “Honey that tastes like honey.”

Honey that tastes like honey?
Our honey is from our farm. Each extraction reflects the nectar of the land. As the blossoms change throughout the season so does the taste of the harvest. Our honey is available liquid or creamed. None of it is pasteurized. We gently warm our liquid honey to liquefy it, but raw honey, which has never been heated, is also available. Our raw honey is usually crystallized solid after September.
